In an industry where brand promises are only as strong as their delivery on the ground, Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSAf) has again used its Annual Dealer Awards to reinforce core brand values through dealer affirmation. Held in Gqeberha, the 2026 edition placed the spotlight firmly on the commercial vehicle retail interface – where customer experience, uptime support and long-term ownership value are ultimately defined.
For fleet operators and owner-drivers, alignment between OEM intent and dealer execution remains critical to operational reliability across South Africa’s logistics economy.
At its core, the programme recognises those dealers consistently translating Isuzu’s standards into measurable outcomes across sales, service, parts and finance – spanning Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV), Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) and Commercial Vehicles (CV).
More importantly, it underscores the partnerships and people behind the brand’s stated purpose of ‘Moving the World – For You’, bringing that ethos into daily, practical application on workshop floors and showroom forecourts.
Measuring consistency where it matters most
Award recipients are determined through the Samurai Sho Programme, Isuzu’s structured performance framework that evaluates dealers across multiple business functions throughout the year.
Using a weighted scorecard tracked monthly, the system ensures a transparent and consistent benchmark for performance – one that reflects not just volume, but customer-centric delivery.
“Our customers don’t experience Isuzu as a factory or a head office. They experience us through the people who welcome them, advise them and support them every day,” said Craig Uren, Executive Vice President: Revenue Generation.
“These awards are our way of saying thank you to Dealers who consistently live our values and help us deliver on our promise of ‘With You for the Long Run’, through reliable support, practical problem-solving and a shared commitment.”
This year’s winners reflect the fundamentals that matter most to fleets – accessibility, dependable workmanship and a culture of ownership, particularly in high-pressure, time-sensitive operating conditions.
Recognising performance across the network
Top volume performers included ITC Midrand in the CV category, while Williams Hunt Roodepoort secured both LCV and SUV honours. Autoworld dominated the Rest of Africa and Africa volume categories, highlighting the growing importance of cross-border dealer capability.
Dealer of the Year accolades were spread across multiple categories, with Williams Hunt Pretoria recognised in the LCV multiple dealer area segment, Meyers East London and Westvaal Potchefstroom acknowledged in large and medium LCV categories respectively, and ITC Midrand and ITC Pretoria leading the CV categories.
Representation from the broader African network remained strong, with Autoworld, Action Auto Limited and Prodimpex S.A. securing top honours. Here’s the official IMSAf 2026 Dealer Award winners’ list:

Expanding footprint to support uptime
Beyond recognition, the awards also served as a platform to highlight ongoing investment in dealer infrastructure and aftersales capability – a key consideration for fleet uptime.
The addition of Isuzu Cape Gate and Isuzu Blackheath in the Western Cape expands the dealer network to 150 facilities across South Africa and the Rest of Africa.
This continued footprint growth strengthens access to servicing, parts availability and technical expertise – critical enablers in reducing downtime and maintaining vehicle performance across diverse operating environments.
A shared commitment to long-term value
Looking ahead, IMSAf reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside its dealer network to deliver on its mission of creating a better life through better transport. The Annual Dealer Awards remain more than a recognition platform – they serve as a strategic touchpoint to assess progress, share best practice and align on customer-first delivery.
For the industry, the message is clear: brand strength in the commercial vehicle sector is not built in isolation but through consistent, measurable execution at dealer level – where promises are either proven or undone.
Editor’s comment: In a market where uptime is mission-critical, Isuzu’s structured approach to dealer performance is both pragmatic and necessary. By formalising recognition through measurable frameworks like Samurai Sho, the OEM reinforces a culture of accountability across its network. For South African fleet operators navigating cost pressures and operational risk, this kind of consistency – delivered at dealer level – remains one of the most tangible differentiators in the market.
