{reg}Breast Cancer Day on October 1st gained enthusiastic support from all sectors including the trucking industry. One company which gave it a ‘˜full tonk’ was Jost SA with all staff being encouraged to wear something pink in show of their support.

Jost SA is a well known supplier of 5th wheels, trailer supports and other truck components. While the ladies looked gorgeous and the guys sort of ‘˜pretty’ in a sort of not so pretty way, sales and technical manager Manie Roux decided to go the full hog and borrowed , well, more likely stole – his wife’s pyjamas to show that he fully supported the event. What a boy’kie!

And while the soft feel of silk pyjamas was impacting on Manie’s ability to stay awake at his desk and concentrate on 5th wheels, down in East London, Tom Swartz, sales representative for HPE Africa, was prancing around town in a rather daring outfit having swapped his normal attire for a pink bra and tights.

HPE, among other activities, is the local distributor for Astra off-road, articulated and rigid dump trucks. After getting some of his clients to donate money to the cause, Tom then hit the streets to solicit donations from passersby.

His bold actions raised R6 000 which was matched by another six grand by HPE giving CANSA a total of R12 000. Well done guys. You’ve got real goedspa? Let’s see more of this next year from the trucking industry. It’s all for a most worthwhile cause.{/reg}
