Volvo Trucks Southern Africa recently recognised the achievements of its dealers at a function held in Pretoria where, apart from awards for the company’s top achievers in service, finance, sales and parts, Volvo Trucks’ best dealers of the year were also announced. So it’s a big congratulations to:

  • Volvo Trucks Mega Dealer of the Year – Volvo Truck Centre Cape Town.
  • Volvo Trucks Medium Dealer of the Year – Volvo Truck Centre Middelburg.
  • Volvo Trucks Small Dealer of the Year – Volvo Truck Centre Nelspruit.
  • Volvo Trucks Developing Markets Dealer of the Year – Autosueco Namibia.

Talking at the awards ceremony, Torbjörn Christensson, president of Volvo Group Southern Africa said the year 2017 was a memorable year for the company and at the centre of the success was the dealer network.

Volvo Trucks has 25 dealerships across Southern Africa and the company’s focus is to support customers’ businesses by providing innovative transport solutions that make fleet owners successful and profitable for the long run.

“Our top performing dealers and staff have once again proved that they’ve got what it takes to provide a world-class level of support to our customers across the region,” said Christensson.

He added that another reason to celebrate was the fact that Volvo Trucks is commemorating its 90th year anniversary. “And what a journey it has been for the brand, making a lasting impact on the commercial vehicle industry and certainly in society as a whole through the various revolutionary safety and technological enhancements introduced over the course of nine decades.”

He also outlined how the company is placing a lot of emphasis on the development of new skills within its dealer network.  During 2017, Volvo Group Southern Africa invested more than R25-million in training more than 2 381 employees and dealer staff.  This included a diesel mechanic apprenticeship programme, learnerships and bursaries.

“As the world around us changes, quality advice, service and support are key to address each of our customers’ exact business and transport requirements. Through connected technology and a highly-skilled workforce, Volvo Trucks fleet owners can get the most out of their vehicles, with maximum safety and the best fuel efficiency. We have a passion for success, not only ours but also the success of our customers, and this continues to drive us to greater heights.” said Christensson.

Well done to all.
