Unitrans wins Transport & Logistics Award

Congratulations to supply chain and logistics company Unitrans on being awarded the Transport & Logistics Award at the 14th Annual National Business Awards held at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg.

Ray Singh, Chief Business Development Officer at Unitrans, says the award reflects the company’s commitment to excellence. “Despite a challenging economic climate, Unitrans continues to exceed expectations by adhering to its core principles of service excellence, teamwork and passion.

“Since the implementation of a new business model in 2015, we have unified the various industry segments into a single business, placing the needs of our customers first. We are honoured to receive this prestigious award, which is a validation of our new approach, and look forward to continue to grow and develop as a company in 2017.”

Unitrans is a diversified supply chain company that operates 130 depots, employs 10 000 staff and its 3 000 vehicles travel more than 250-million kilometres per year. The company has handled the design, implementation and on-going provision of supply chain solutions for customers in the sub-Saharan African market for more than 50 years.

According to Ralf Fletcher, CEO of Top Media & Communications, organisers of the National Business Awards, Unitrans was chosen for demonstrating excellence in specialist logistic support for industry.
