With the ever increasing incidents of theft and vandalism of trucks occurring throughout the region, truck-trailers have become a target due to value of loads and components. Apart from loads, the most commonly targeted items are wheels, tail lights and air/electric suzies. This theft often results in rigs unable to move or to travel in an unroadworthy state.
Prime Trailers, in its quest to add value to its customers, now offers – as standard – an anti-theft stainless steel plate on all its light boxes which are anti-tamper and difficult to steal. “Although this may not eliminate the theft of lights altogether, it will definitely deter criminals or at least slow them down dramatically,” says the company.
The company also advises that in this day and age, it is also a necessity to make use of anti-theft lock nuts for both truck and trailer wheels. Good advice given the numbers of tyres that are stolen around the country.
