Harry Louw brings with him 23 years of vehicle tracking industry experience in his new role as CEO of the South African operations of Cartrack. Louw will also form part of a leadership team tasked with directing the company’s strategy and maintaining its position as one of the fastest growing vehicle-telematics platforms in the world.

Many in the industry will know the name Harry Louw. He is the man who spent close to 23 years in the Netstar stable, the last eight of which were as group managing director of the company.

Well, he’s no longer there but the good news is that he hasn’t retired and gone fishing. Instead, he’s taken up the reins as CEO of the South African operations of Cartrack so his skills and experience in the stolen vehicle recovery and fleet management arena are still with us.

I say this is good news because the telematics arena is one which has grown at a vibrant pace over the past years and the industry therefore needs the highest level of market experience and knowledge combined with a depth of input from the techno-development boffins in order to keep pace with market needs. As FleetWatch has stated, a telematics system for truckers is no longer a ‘nice-to-have’. Rather, it is a ‘must have’.

Jesse Young, has been appointed as the new Group Chief Information Officer of Cartrack. Young has over 15 years’ experience in fleet telematics and is highly skilled in advanced technology and leading software-as-a-service platforms for the transportation industry in the USA.
Jesse Young, has been appointed as the new Group Chief Information Officer of Cartrack. Young has over 15 years’ experience in fleet telematics and is highly skilled in advanced technology and leading software-as-a-service platforms for the transportation industry in the USA.

In both these areas, Cartrack is now pretty settled for, along with Louw’s appointment, comes the news that a guy by the name of Jesse Young has been appointed as the new Group Chief Information Officer. Young has over 15 years’ experience in fleet telematics and is highly skilled in advanced technology and leading software-as-a-service platforms for the transportation industry in the USA.

With these two new appointments, Cartrack, is priming itself for further innovation and growth.  As Cartrack Global CEO, Zak Calisto states: “Both men have a deep understanding of our fast-moving and highly competitive industry and I have full confidence in their abilities to maintain our strong position in South Africa and globally as a leading SaaS telematics provider and the most trusted company for vehicle security and road safety.”

“Undoubtedly, they will hit the ground running with enthusiasm and excel in embracing our customer-centric culture, ultimately resulting in Cartrack achieving our goals in both the short-term and long-term,” he says.

Young will also be leading the company’s talented research and development team in Singapore where, according to Calisto, support from the Singapore government regarding the company’s commitment to drive the connected vehicle ecosystem has been received and welcomed. Both appointments are expected to support Cartrack’s growth strategy as a leader in smart transportation.

FleetWatch congratulates both men on their new appointments and wishes them the best of success for the future.
