Morné Stoltz, Head of Business Insurance at MiWay, says the addition of the Ctrack services to MiWay Business Insurance offering is in line with the company’s strategy of helping policyholders reduce their risk wherever possible.

MiWay Business Insurance has announced its collaboration with Ctrack to supply fleet management solutions to their HCV (Heavy Commercial Vehicle) clients. MiWay is wholly owned by Santam, a blue-chip JSE-listed company

With effect from August 2016, MiWay Business Insurance is adding value to its commercial vehicle insurance products by installing Ctrack devices to all insured heavy commercial vehicles.

Morné Stoltz, Head of Business Insurance at MiWay, says the Ctrack service not only supports stolen vehicle tracking and recovery but also delivers rich contextual vehicle usage confirmation.

“Ctrack monitoring and on-going management delivers granular data on driver behaviour and whereabouts, to enable more effective risk management for both the insurer and the fleet manager,” he says.

“Vehicle tracking, fleet management and insurance telematics company, Ctrack is an ideal business partner for MiWay. They are in the business of keeping vehicles, fleets and their occupants ‘Always Visible’. We’re excited to partner with a company with such a great track record – over 30 years’ experience, a stolen vehicle recovery rate of over 95% and continuous investment in research and development,” says Stoltz.

MiWay Business Insurance covers business vehicles and trailers, goods in transit, business all risks and office contents. “The addition of the Ctrack services to MiWay Business Insurance offering is in line with our strategy of helping policyholders reduce their risk wherever possible,” he says.

  1. MiWay may shoot themselves in the foot, because as an Insurer, you may not tell the clients which Tracking system to install- there is a fine line where you can or can not tell a client whom they must deal with or what to do. They should instead link to all Tracking companies and give the clients the option to select which one- is this not a better way to do it? just asking.
