The McCarthy Group’s flagship Hino dealership, Hino Midrand, is Hino South Africa’s Dealer of the Year for 2015. The prestigious award was recently presented at a gala event at the new Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.
Hino Midrand has been part of the national Hino network for more than 25 years but for much of this time it was a satellite dealership twinned with McCarthy’s big truck outlet in Selby, Johannesburg CBD. This combination won the Hino Dealer of the Year award in 2007.
The situation changed substantially for Hino Midrand at the end of 2013 when the operations moved into spacious, modern facilities.
Hino Midrand is headed up Hennie de Villiers, who is also the group managing director of McCarthy’s six Hino dealerships in South Africa. Hino Midrand came close to winning the top award for 2014 which was its first full year in operation. It has now put the stamp on its further improved overall performance as dealer of the year.
A proud Hennie de Villiers was full of praise for his team: “Winning the Hino Dealer of the Year award requires exceptional teamwork, backed up by enthusiasm, dedication and the willingness to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction,” says De Villiers.
Hino dealers are evaluated through an ongoing process throughout the year to determine the winner of this award. This includes regular submissions on sales, parts and service achievements as well as visits to the dealership by Hino SA representatives who check on aspects such as corporate identity standards.
Hino Midrand achieved 121% of its sales target in 2015 and recorded more than R8-million in part sales while their combined Customer Experience (CE) section of the evaluation recorded more than 96%. (This is the average score for CE evaluations in sales, parts and service and is independently surveyed).
The runner-up for the 2015 Hino Truck Dealer of the Year award was Hino Oranje. This is another impressive, new Hino facility which has been part of the Unitrans Group for many years and is situated in Bloemfontein.
The dealer principal is Erwin Stolze, who joined the Unitrans Group at Hino East Rand a few years ago and is proving a very successful senior executive in driving all aspects of the operations. Hino Bloemfontein achieved both its truck and parts sales targets for 2015 while it had a combined Customer Experience score of well above target.
“We are proud of the outstanding achievements by these two stars in the Hino dealer network in South Africa last year. In fact, the whole dealer network lifted its game considerably in 2015, driven by the international Hino Total Support programme which encourages building very close relationships with all our stakeholders,” says Ernie Trautmann, vice president of Hino SA.
