UD Trucks Southern Africa recently announced its dealer network’s top achievers for 2013 with finalists and winners announced in 23 categories ranging from administration to aftermarket, sales and financial services.
The most coveted awards are, of course, the Dealer of the Year accolades and for the first time in its history, the company presented the Large Dealer of the Year award to two dealers, namely BB Truck and Tractor of Polokwane and McCarthy Commercial Vehicles Boksburg
“Both dealers excelled in their respective regions and were true ambassadors of the UD Trucks brand during 2013. They set the standard in all the various disciplines within the UD Trucks dealer network, from training to sales and aftermarket care, and simply shined in 2013,” says Jacques Carelse, managing director of UD Trucks Southern Africa.
The winner of the 2013 Medium Dealer of the Year Award is Produkta Trucks of Nelspruit, which, according to Carelse, excelled in every aspect of their business during the past year, while at the same time managing to grow their market share considerably. They also recorded a stellar performance measured against the strict requirements set by UD Trucks Southern Africa in sales, service and parts.
UD Trucks is constantly developing, strengthening and training its regional dealer network with 64 UD Trucks dealers now in place across southern and eastern Africa. This gives the company a representative footprint along the major routes and trade corridors across the region.
The company recently introduced customers to the new UD Trucks Magnis Pretoria East dealership, which forms part of the JSE-listed Imperial Holdings, and is strategically located next to the N4. As highlighted in a past article in this newsletter, this dealership is also one of the first commercial vehicle facilities in the country to adhere to stringent environmental regulations.
Fleet Dynamics, the UD Trucks dealer in East London, is also currently undergoing a major upgrade of its facilities in order to considerably enlarge its capacity and enable them to deliver at much higher customer service levels. The company also opened a new service dealer in Mthatha to provide aftermarket services to fleet owners on the N2 highway.
“As a manufacturer, I believe we have one of the leading dealer networks in the industry who, with their vast knowledge, skills and high service levels, are able to offer our customers the best support. We highly value their continuous investment in and commitment to the UD Trucks brand,” says Carelse.
The development of its dealer network comes at a time when, according to Carelse, the company is preparing for a ground-breaking era over the next five years.
“We are currently planning the introduction of a game-changing range of new products and services to customers and for this reason, we are constantly looking for innovative ways in which we can go the extra mile to support our customers in a smart and modern way – and our dealers are at the forefront of this drive.”
