New managing director of Iveco South Africa, Eamonn Parker, out with his customers - this time presenting an award to one of the drivers in the Oranjerivier Tenkers Driver of the Year competition.

Eamonn Parker, formerly head of sales for Iveco in southern Africa, has been appointed managing director of Iveco South Africa (PTY) Ltd replacing Robert (Bob) Lowden who returns to the UK as the new general manager for the UK and the Republic Of Ireland.

Parker has worked for Iveco in the UK, Italy and South Africa since joining the company as a graduate in 1999. Prior to his move to South Africa some years back, he was marketing manager for Africa and Middle East, where he was based at the head quarters in Turin, Italy.

Parker was born in the UK and holds an honours degree in Business Studies and Information Management from the University of Sheffield.

“This organisation change gives Iveco a high level of continuity and stability for the foreseeable future and ensures that the challenging expansion plans for the southern Africa region are executed in these key markets for the group,” says Mario Gasparri, Vice President of CNHi South Africa.

“Building on the great improvement in results over the past few years, Eamonn was the natural choice to lead Iveco through this next chapter of our development, especially recognising the important industrial footprint that we have now built at our new manufacturing plant in Rosslyn, Pretoria which will be key to our growth.”

Gasparri also extended his gratitude to Lowden “for the great job done here in South Africa”.

FleetWatch extends its heartiest congratulations to Eamonn Parker on this appointment and wishes him all the best for the road forward.

New man at the wheel

And here he is in action. The new managing director of Iveco South Africa, Eamonn Parker, behind the wheel of the Iveco Daily at the recent ‘Tested by Dakar Experience’ held for customers, dealers and the media in Johannesburg. He’s fast and when obstacles get in his way, he merely bumps them out the way – gently of course.
