Harry Louw, managing director of Altech Netstar, sees the acquisition of FleetPro as a strategic move that will close the loop in the provision of an extensive suite of fleet solutions from a single provider.

Altech Netstar has purchased Fleet and Asset Management solutions provider FleetPro thereby establishing a strategic platform that will enable the company to offer its customers a comprehensive range of fleet solutions in the market.

“The acquisition closes the loop in the provision of an extensive suite of fleet solutions from a single provider,” says Altech Netstar managing director Harry Louw.

Altech Netstar, which is owned by the JSE listed Altron Group, pioneered the stolen vehicle and tracking recovery industry in South Africa way back in 1994. It launched as Netstar and was later bought by the Altron Group.

Commenting on the acquisition, Louw says a strategic imperative for Altech Netstar is to deliver the most all-encompassing range of fleet solutions in the market and the acquisition.

“The strength of the purchase lies with Altech Netstar as the pioneer in the stolen vehicle and tracking recovery industry in South Africa and 20 years experience in the field. The company, as a leading supplier of digitally connected fleet management and vehicle telematics services, provides a perfect fit for FleetPro’s fully integrated fleet and asset management software platform which manages the entire lifecycle of a vehicle or asset in real time,” Louw says.

FleetPro’s John Bell, who has been at the helm of the company since its inception, says the package includes fleet finance and maintenance management; fuel, accident and fines management; as well as personnel and driver management.

“Our fully integrated fleet management and rental and leasing system already has a successful history of providing large and small fleets in southern Africa, Africa, the Middle East and Europe with optimal management advantages and competitive bottom-line results. The acquisition of Fleetpro by Altech Netstar therefore takes their offerings and solutions in fleet and asset management to a much higher level with the opportunity of extending these beyond the present borders,” says Bell.

Louw says the extended range of complimentary services available to both Altech Netstar and FleetPro clients is in line with collaborative initiatives aimed at bringing business value to clients.
