It was smiles all round at the turning of the first sod to mark the official start of the building of Triton Express’ new R135-million head office in Meadowview Business Park, Linbro Park.
The new development will include an impressive 12 000 m2 warehouse, 3 000 m2 of office space and a 600 m2 staff service village.
The Meadowview Business Park lies alongside the N3 highway and R25 Modderfontein Road at the London Road interchange and is ideally situated between two of South Africa’s most successful commercial nodes, Longmeadow and Linbro Park.
In line with the company’s ‘˜green ethos’, the new buildings will incorporate several green initiatives including elements such as natural lighting in the warehouse and rainwater harvesting for washing trucks. All offices will be out of the direct sunlight but will still allow natural light into the office space to help reduce the use of artificial lighting.
Energy efficient lighting will be controlled by motion detectors and energy savings extend from lighting to the air conditioning system. The building will use low VOC paints and recycled steel where possible.
The building is due for completion in September 2014 so expect a big party round about that time.
