HFR Refrigerated Transport recently took delivery of 25 International 9800i 6X4 truck tractors fitted with Cummins ISX engines and autoshift transmissions. ELT International Turfontein delivered the 25 new trucks to HFR.
HFR transports fresh, frozen and dry cargo nationwide as well as to neighbouring countries such as Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique and Swaziland.
Japie Meyer, MD and financial director of HFR, says the fact that International has an excellent footprint in these African countries is one of the main reasons for them deciding to buy the trucks.
He is also happy with the fuel consumption of the existing Internationals currently in operation in the fleet and says the Cummins, Fuller and Rockwell combination keeps maintenance costs low.
The advantage of a bigger payload due to the heavier front axle of the International truck is also a plus factor. The expectations on International’s service are high for, as Meyer says: “Service excellence is our motto and we expect the same excellent service from our suppliers.’ Fair enough!
