The XF105 for heavy and long distance haulage is available as a 6x4 truck tractor powered by a 460hp PACCAR MX engine.

DAF brings two well-proven trucks to the South African truck market. The XF105 for heavy, long distance haulage and the CF85 which can be exploited in variety of applications such as regional road haulage as well as construction operations. The XF105 is available as a 6×4 truck tractor, whereas the DAF CF comes in 6×4 and 8×4 rigid derivatives.

All trucks are powered by Euro 3 compliant, 12.9 litre PACCAR MX six-in-line diesel engines, offering 305 kW/410hp in the CF series and 343 kW/460 hp in the XF105.

Underlying DAF’s confidence in the local market and unbeknown to many in the local trucking fraternity, over the last two years, these engines have been put through a thorough test programme in a variety of applications and under demanding circumstances by a number of South African transport operators.

DAF says over 5.4 million test kilometres were accumulated during these trials. The result, DAF asserts, is a truck tailor-made for African operating conditions.
