GRW Engineering has opened a dedicated service and repair division further widening its after sales customer service. The new division will service all makes of trailers but at this point in time will undertake structural repairs only to GRW products.

GRW Engineering, one of Southern Africa’s largest manufacturers of road tankers for the fuel, chemical and liquid gas transport industry, has launched a new services division to provide tanker repairs, refurbishments and contract servicing that adhere to the same quality standards which the company is trusted for by industry giants such as Shell, BP, Engen, Unitrans and Afrox.

According to GRW CEO, Gerhard van der Merwe, the new division was established to meet the transport market’s post-recession need for having existing road tankers refurbished, repaired and serviced, while at the same time following a new strategy to expand after-sales service and excel in customer care. Albert Liebenberg, previously GRW Engineering’s technical director, has also been assigned to GRW Services, specifically for quality assurance purposes in its Johannesburg and Cape Town workshops.

The new division will service all makes of trailers but at this point in time will undertake structural repairs only to GRW products. To that end, GRW Services’ task-specific teams, who are familiar with GRW’s products, provide clients with advice and the latest available products and technology in the road tanker industry, while being focused on keeping turnaround times to a minimum. Fully equipped spray painting, pressure testing and washing facilities ensure that any service required by a tanker operator can be facilitated.

The implementation of testing pits and the registration of a verification laboratory are also underway so calibration of all meters, overfill sensing, manifold testing and pressure testing systems can be done in-house according to SABS standards by accredited on-site verification officers.

Two approved International Trucks agencies , in Cape Town and Worcester , offer the additional services of maintenance and repairs on truck engines, gearboxes and trailers of any brand, as well as parts outlets and after-hours site and roadside assistance. (See FleetWatch, June 2010 edition).
