EATING HEALTHY WHILE ON THE ROAD
FleetWatch’s has developed the programme ‘Your Truck’s Your Gym’ whereby truck drivers are able to do daily exercises using their truck as their gym. We are striving for prevention rather than fixing an issue after the damage has been done. In the second phase of the ‘Your Truck’s Your Gym’ programme where we are developing a full nutritional diet along with the assistance from the amazing people at the University of Stellenbosch in 2018. We are all well aware that is it very difficult for the a truck driver to maintain a healthy lifestyle with long hours, lack of access to healthy food and eating meals away from home, further to this the lack of knowledge on healthy nutrition is a major issue.
Think eating healthy while on the road is impossible? Not anymore!
FleetWatch will be developing a nutritional guideline for truck driver’s which will include basic knowledge of the need to fuel up often (not just their trucks), planning ahead for meals, hydrate, meal suggestions based on cost, ease of access and cultural diets, snack suggestions and more… Truck drivers will be able to access and track their diets and all the nutritional information via the ‘Your Truck’s Your Gym’ App and booklet. We have targeted the need for exercise and in 2018 we will be focusing on the truck driver’s diets to increasing their diet knowledge, owner’s knowledge and understanding for their drivers, health, energy levels, concentration, eye sight and so much more…. A healthy driver is a good driver!
We will be raising funds through our annual Golf day to make up ‘Your Truck’s Your Gym’ Health Packs which will be distributed at the launch of the second phase of ‘Your Truck’s Your Gym’. The packs will include bottle of water, healthy snacks, booklet, app details, travel meal set (plate, cutlery, cup).
