Eqstra shows its heart

Who wouldn’t be smiling at the handover of a R101 144 cheque. FleetWatch has always contended that our industry has a big heart and this has once again been proven true via a donation of R101 000 to the Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa (CHOC) by Eqstra.

The money was raised through the Eqstra Spring Classic mountain bike initiative as well as via participation by the Eqstra corporate cycling team in the Momentum 94.7 road cycle challenge. The sale of Eqstra cycling kit also put some money towards the total.

“The time, effort and commitment shown by the CHOC Foundation and its volunteers is humbling,” says Walter Hill, chief executive of Eqstra. “The support given to the children and their families is certainly exemplary, playing a vital role within our communities. It is a cause well worth supporting as the drive for increased awareness certainly can save lives.”

These much needed funds go a long way to assisting the CHOC Foundation with their numerous support programmes. As stated by CHOC CEO, Francois Peenz: “CHOC’s whole functioning thrives around the relationship with donor sponsors, the COWS (volunteers) and companies like Eqstra. Together we keep more than hope alive!”

Well done Eqstra!
